Department store chain Allders, which has a store in the Westgate, Oxford, has unveiled its online shopping venture allders.com, writes David Duffy.

allders.com is a major step towards creating a national brand name for the company, which currently has 36 stores across the country.

The company, established since 1862, hopes its new e-commerce channel will enlarge its existing customer base significantly, by extending the awareness of the brand to new geographic regions.

Allders' own exclusive brands alongside well-known high street brands are available online ranging from beds, to bathroom and bedroom furnishings, electrical goods, and a broad range of home furnishings, homewares, gifts and gadgets. Allders plans to extend the product range significantly in several stages over the next year.

Allders says it has applied strict standards to its Internet site for customer privacy and security and offers a 100 per cent security guarantee.
