Headingtonwent in 2-0 up at half-time through Green and Varley, but Easington came out fighting in the second half and pulled a goal back from substitute Nicky Hubbard in the 64th minute.
A superb penalty save by Richard Allen denied Digger Gardner, and with six minutes to go, Headington substitute Carl Brown looked to have made it safe at 3-1.
Gardner gave Easington hope two minutes from time, but it proved too late.
