Honda unveiled a sports coupe prototype and a sports utility concept at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this month.
Honda's premium US brand Acura unveiled the striking RS-X, a prototype version of the Integra replacement due to make its debut in the US in April.
The RS-X is powered by a new 2.0-litre 16-valve engine developing about 200 horsepower.
The powerplant is one of Honda's new i-VTEC engines, the first of which makes its UK debut in the seven-seat Stream this summer.
The Model X concept is a lifestyle vehicle aimed at active twentysomethings, blending the best features of sport utility and pick-up design.
Its origins date back to 1998 and the first extreme sports X GAMES in San Diego.
Members of Honda Americas' Los Angeles-based research and development team visited the games to canvas students, surfers, snow-boarders and mountain-bikers on what type of vehicle they wanted to suit their lifestyles.
