David Kemp likened his freefalling Oxford United team to an old banger after they crashed 4-2 at Peterborough last night.
"We're like an old car. You think you've got one part mended and then the bumper falls off."
Boss Kemp managed to find a cure for the attacking problem which had been so acute in last Saturday's 1-0 home defeat by Colchester, but at the other end, United were run ragged.
Only a fine goalkeeping display by Neil Cutler, who saved a penalty and made two or three other excellent stops, denied Posh a much bigger margin of victory.
"We've had a right go, but we're like a bucket with a hole in it," Kemp said. "You patch it up and then another hole appears.
"Without singling out individuals, we had a couple of players who definitely had a poor day.
"We picked a team to keep it tight, but just when you think you've got it right, someone lets us down somewhere in the unit and then you're struggling."
