The Oxford & District Association junior tournament at Kidlington Forum Youth Centre was dominated by the three current members of the Oxford junior team, who were the top seeds.

Greg Boone took the under 15 and 17 titles, the latter after a tremendous battle with Stewart Hamilton, while Sam Harrison was the under 13 champion.

U15 semi-finals: G Boone (Forum) bt S Harrison 21-12, 21-19; Y Salehi (St James) bt J Weaver 21-15, 21-19. Final: Boone bt Salehi 21-16, 21-15.

U17 semi-final: G Boone bt S Harrison 21-13, 21-5; S Hamilton (St James) bt Y Salehi 21-16, 21-19. Final: Boone bt Hamilton 21-18, 22-20.

Graded (Group): 1 A Wells (Forum), 2 J Dawson (St James).

Handicap doubles final: S Hamilton & P Guest bt G Boone & S Benwell (Forum) 21-18, 21-19.

U13 Consolation winner: A Wells. U15 Consolation winner: S Hughes (St James). Docos Trophy - Girls: J O'Donovan (Forum). Boys: S Hamilton.

*The Town overcame the Gown 8-2 to retain the Oxford Sports Council Trophy at Forum in a match played at a very high standard in spite of the final score.

Gary Pickford (St James), Mark Newns (Crown House) and the Flint twins, Jeremy and Andrew (Forum), represented the Town.

The men's second team match ended in a 5-5 draw. Bob Klobucki, Paul Woodward and Terry Ruane (Forum) and George Styles (Crown House) represented the Town.

Byles won two, Woodwards and Ruane one each and Woodward and Klobucki won their doubles.

The University forfeited the women's match.
