The on-going conservation of Oxfordshire's countryside and wildlife has gained momentum.
The Oxfordshire Nature Conservation Forum produced a county Biodiversity Action Plan that now has complete habitat action plans in place.
Oxfordshire's action plan was launched in 1998, its aim to conserve and enhance the biodiversity of Oxfordshire for the benefit and enjoyment of future generations.
The habitat plans have been drawn up for important habitats and species within the overall action plan, aiming to get local people involved in conservation of their areas, raising public awareness and providing a basis for monitoring progress in biodiversity conservation.
Eventually species action plans will be drawn up to concentrate on the conservation of particular species.
