Youngsters were introduced to a new style of netball, called 'high fives'.
A Netball Skills Award Day, taken by sixth-form students at Didcot Girls' School, was for the benefit of girls from the town's primary schools. It was part of an initiative to get young people more involved in sport.
PE teacher Norma Queralt said: "One of the main aims of this new type of netball game is to enable children to take part in a variety of different positions.
"Unlike netball, which has seven players in a team, high fives has only five players who all change places during a match."
Our picture shows Nicole Lovelock, second right, and Erika Campbell giving the schoolchildren a few tips. The five student coaches recruited assistant leaders from among 14-year-old students to help take the classes before holding a tournament in the afternoon.
Coca Cola and the Government's Sportsmatch scheme provided £450 of equipment, including netballs, bibs, badges and certificates, for the event.
