The 2001 Oxonian/Oxford City time trial season started on the freezing slopes of Brill where the overall winner was Steve Shellard, who turned in a superb time 45.18.
Chris Edginton was second, more than four minutes slower, while third place went to Geoff Booker on his trike.
Ingrid Anson was the fastest woman, her 59.18 good enough for 11th place.

Oxonian's Patrick Smith came eighth in the Banbury Star Hilly 23-mile event.
Bob Ellis and new member Peter Whitfield travelled to Bakewell in Derbyshire to ride the Matlock CC Hilly 25-miler.
Whitfield covered the tough course in 1.16.13, beating Ellis by 25 seconds. The pair finished second and third in the veterans' competition.
