Spreadsheets and e-mail are two of the novel ingredients GCSE students at Witney's Wood Green School are mixing together in a hi-tech recipe to develop a new food product.
They have won £5,000 sponsorship from BT as a Future Talks Schools Award to team up with Whitley Bay High School to compare regional tastes, preferences and diets.
Exchanging notes and nutritional values of traditional regional dishes will enable them to develop a new multi-regional product.
Headteacher Cynthia Savage said: "Wood Green has invested heavily in four new computer suites - and food technology is one of the many curriculum areas in the school where students are using the equipment imaginatively to develop and share ideas."
