Plans for a new sports pavilion in Hook Norton received a cash boost from Cherwell District Council.
The council agreed a grant of £85,000 towards the £500,000 needed to build the complex, which will include a football pitch and tennis court.
Cllr Ray Gasson, who represents the village on the district council, revealed news of the grant during a public meeting. Project chairman Mike Barlow said: "This will help secure partnership funding from a range of organisations, including Sport England."
Cllr Andrew Payne, chairman of Cherwell's resources committee, added: "The district council is particularly pleased that these facilities will be available for young people in the area."
