Improvements for cyclists in north Oxford could be on the way.
Four measures to improve the Cutteslowe cycle route are planned. These are: to move the existing pelican crossing nearer Lovelace Road, continue the existing cycle track across Harefields junction, signpost the route via Templar Road and to consider changing the lay-out of the shared use foot and cycle way in Banbury Road.
The Millennium Commission has indicated it will give £22,000 to Sustrans, which is co-ordinating the National Cycle Network, for improvements at Cutteslowe estate. The city council has already set aside £8,000 of Millennium Commission cash for the project.
The measures for Cutteslowe were agreed by members of the city council's cycles sub-committee and will now go to the highways and traffic committee for consideration.
