Oxford City came second in their first meeting in Division 1 of the McDonalds Boys League.

With no fewer than 16 first places, all the City athletes pulled together to cover most of the events - and for some these were completely new to them.

Highlight of the match was Ben Kelsey's feat of achieving standards in all of his throwing events, while Tom Gore gained a standard in the 200m with his time of 24.9.

The two athletes took man-of-the-match awards in field and track respectively.

Ed Dupee competed in his first steeplechase and produced an outstanding run to take first position.

Match result: 1 Woking 182 pts, 2 Oxford City 171, 3 Chiltern 152, 4 Ealing 137.
