Domino's Oxford Saints notched up their second victory of the year in the British Senior League Division 2 with a 35-20 victory over South Wales Warriors.

Running back Brian Myers and wide receiver Steve Belchereach scored two touchdowns.

However, the Saints had to withstand a fourth-quarter fightback from

South Wales to maintain their perfect start to the season.

Myers opened the scoring in the first quarter on a seven-yard run and

Belcher's extra point kick gave the Saints a 7-0 advantage after seven minutes of action.

Belcher then showed his receiving skills by hauling in a 45-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Wayne Mayers and then added the extra point for a 14-0 scoreline.

Undaunted by thisdeficit, South Wales struck back when QB Russell Wingfield threw a 61-yard touchdown pass down the sideline to wide receiver McRoy Spencer. The two-point conversion attempt failed.

Oxford extended their lead when outside linebacker Richard Davies intercepted a pass intended for Spencer and sprinted 44 yards for a touchdown. Belcher's kick made it 21-6.

After half-time, Belcher collected his second TD with a 22-yard reception in the end zone. His extra point kick gave the Saints a comfortable 28-6 lead, but the Warriors were far from finished.

The Welsh side hit back with a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

Running back Nathan James scored on an eight-yard run and Paul McCarthy caught the two-point conversion pass.

Then Tim Macy caught an eight-yard pass from Wingfield to make the score 28-20.

However, Saints made sure of the points when Myers scored on a nine-yard run with four minutes left. Belcher added his fifth extra point.

In all, Myers ran for 130 yards on 19 carries - his second 100-yard performance of the season. Fullback Jimmy Norton also ran for 48 yards on eight carries.
