Little Wittenham nature reserve will be open to the public at the weekend after a two-and-a-half month closure due to foot and mouth disease restrictions.

Round Hill will remain closed to avoid any potential risk to livestock grazing there, but restrictions on access to Castle Hill, the woodland and Church Meadow will be lifted.

Stephen Head, the director of Northmoor Trust, which manages Little Wittenham nature reserve, said: "We are very pleased to be able to re-open to the public on Saturday, May 12 and would like to thank people for their patience."
