Green county council candidate Craig Simmons is hoping the birth of his baby daughter Berenice will bring him some extra votes on polling day.
Berenice means "bringer of victory", and Cllr Simmons, who is standing for re-election in the St Clements ward, hopes he will be a winner on June 7. Cllr Simmons, 41, and his partner, city councillor Elise Benjamin, 35, who represents the East ward, celebrated the birth at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
Cllr Benjamin said: "Beri has already been to her first city council meeting. Fortunately, she slept through it."
She is the couple's first child.
