Arsonists set fire to a new £15,000 Mercedes van after failing to push it into the River Windrush at Witney.
The fire left the vehicle, belonging to Computer Developments UK, a complete write-off and also set light to a tree.
David Merriman, managing director of the firm at Witan Way, said: "It's totally senseless. They obviously wanted to destroy the van because they managed to push it near to the river."
Witney firefighters were called to the scene on Friday night. Police are treating the incident as arson.
