Oxford Cavaliers were outgunned 84-0 away to Summer RL Conference Central South Division leaders Coventry.
After three straight victories, Cavaliers were confident of giving the unbeaten Bears a tough game, but Coventry demonstrated exactly why they are such a classy outfit with a clinical demolition.
Oxford were without three of their top players due to injury, but front-rowers Mark Bell and Jeremy Nikora tackled like Trojans and centre Simon Yarrow looked their most dangerous attacker.
Cavaliers assistant coach Barry Randall accepted that Coventry were worthy winners but noted wryly: "It was one of those games where one side gets everything right and the other gets everything wrong".
The Cavaliers will be looking to redeem themselves next week at Gloucester.
