Witney's A team won convincingly in the first-round gala of this year's Milton Keynes Junior League Division 1 competition at Radley College.
Despite losing maximum points for two disqualifications for leaving the pool early, Witney won easily.
Eleven-year-old Laura Helm produced two outstanding swims to win her backstroke and butterfly races.
Result: Witney A 201pts, Maidenhead 170, Abingdon Vale 149, Ealing B 138, Luton B 131, Daventry 100.
Kidlington and Gosford juniors got their bid for promotion off to a flying start by winning the Division 2 gala at Leighton Buzzard by 30 points.
Fine teamwork produced 12 relay victories with the nine-year boys' squad of William Bridgewater, Sam Fowler, Lewis Fraser and Bradley Hills particularly impressive.
Emphatic wins were achieved by Leah Castle (butterfly) and Calum Surrage (freestyle), while a double first for Charlotte Aust was some recompense for her 400-mile round trip!
A weakened Witney B team still produced plenty of encouraging swims.
Emily O'Keeffe's superb effort in the 12-years backstroke saw her take victory with a new best, and ten-year-old James Hearn followed up his new pb in the 50m freestyle with a win in the boys' one length butterfly which earned him the swimmer of the match award.
Result: 1 Kidlington & Gosford 203 pts; 2 St Ives 173; 3 Feltham 152; 4 City of Milton Keynes 124; 5 Witney B 112; 6 Leighton Buzzard 102.
