Oxford Nondescripts pulled out all the stops at Jordan Hill to beat Tiddington, but fell short by the narrowest of margins in a thrilling finish.
Having chosen to bat, Tiddington were reduced to 60-6 by the pace of Dennis Mihaljevich (5-72).
But then a stand of 105 between Nathan Brooks (65) and John Richardson (36) redressed the balance and took them to a respectable 185-9.
Rain then reduced Nondies' innings to 36 overs, and an invaluable fighting knock of 75 from Ian Mead almost did the trick, but they fell just short at 184-6.
