Oxfordshire were facing the prospect of a second heavy Minor Counties Championship defeat of the season after a disastrous second day against Cheshire at Challow and Childrey yesterday.

In reply to Cheshire's first innings tiotal of 313, Oxon were shot out for 151.
Despite their first-innings lead of 162, the visitors declined to enforce the follow-on. They batted again and rattled up 172-2 dec in quick time to set Oxon 335 for victory.
Another disastrous batting collapse left them struggling at 30-4 at the close.
