Oxford United were today drawn at home to first division Gillingham in the first round of next season's Worthington Cup.
It will be the first night game at United's new Kassam Stadium, and will take place on Tuesday, August 21 (7.45).
The League Cup competition has reverted to one-off games after many years of two-legged ties in the opening rounds, so the U's were delighted to be dealt a home draw.
"Now that it's gone to a straight one-off match it's especially important to be drawn at home because it gives you a better chance of getting through to the next round," said secretary Mick Brown.
