Oxford Saints' unbeaten record seldom looked under threat as they notched up their fifth consecutive win with a 21-6 victory over Plymouth Admirals at Plymouth Albion RFC.

Saints scored three touchdowns in the first half and, with three regular season games remaining, they lead the southern conference of British Senior League Division 2.

Defensive end John Barclay, a student at Oxford Brookes University, opened the scoring for Oxford.

A jarring hit from Ez Charles forced a Plymouth player to fumble and Barclay scooped up the ball and ran 55 yards to score. Kicker Steve Belcher added the extra point.

In the second quarter, Saints went 14-0 ahead when quarterback Wayne Mayers lofted an 18-yard touchdown pass to tight end Mike Bagshaw.

Belcher again kicked the conversion.

Running back Brian Myers scored with five minutes remaining in the first half when he ran into the end zone from ten yards out. Belcher's kick made it 21-0.

Admirals struck back just before half-time, Matt Carroll scoring on a two-yard run.

Plymouth attempted to add a two-point conversion after faking the extra point, but holder Jon Wyse was tackled short of the end zone.

Myers led Oxford's offence, gaining 94 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries.
