Ashton's Terry Chambers produced breaks of 50 and 42 but still lost to Warner Page in the match against Riley's A in the Rileys Summer League.
Page won 200-169 as Riley's triumphed 2-1, their other victory coming from Roger Coenen, who overcame Nobby Noble 150-112. Asthton's only success came from Peter Fenn, who beat Dave Morgan 150-133.
Wheatley Boys beat Loose Cannons 2-1 thanks to wins for Justin Shepherd and Nathan Ball, who overcame Dick Hashman and Jack Woods respectively.
Keith Pearce gained Cannons' compensation by beating Keith Pearce 150-112.
In the remaining match, Riley's B whitewashed The Morris men 3-0. Nolan Aselford defeated Roger Tomlin 150-73, Keith Maskens beat Doug Baker 150-94, before Allan Copelin edged home 150-122 against Bob Hayward.
