Two amateur Witney musicians, who jokingly call themselves "ageing hippies," are hoping to raise funds for Third World health care through a new CD.

Ian Boughton and Derek West have teamed up to produce a 12 track blues and folk album called "Compassion Road."

It is the first time they have teamed up together, Ian as guitarist, bass and mandolin player and Derek on harmonica, and both sharing the vocals.

They call themselves Caleb's Mission.

"We have both touched 50 and could be termed ageing hippies." said Mr Broughton.

Mr West lives at Sherbourne Road on Witney's Deer Park estate. Both are members of the Community Church which meets at Queen's Dyke School.

The CD is to raise funds for Health Help International, a charity bringing medicines and doctors to some of the world's poorest people.

To obtain a copy of the CD, which costs £10, call Mr Broughton on 01993 774779.
