Cheetahs skipper Steve Jonhston is through to the Intercontinental final in Vastervik this August after finishing joint seventh in the Overseas final at Poole on Sunday.
The meeting was won by Jason Lyons, for the second time in four years, with a brilliant and un untroubled 15-point maximum.
The Belle Vue rider saw off the challenge of Gary Havelock, defending Overseas champion Sam Ermolenko, and the in-form Scott Nicholls.
Nicholls qualified for the next round despite a nasty crash, which ruined his chances of landing the Overseas title.
The 23-year-old, from Ipswich, had the title in his grasp following two wins but then fell while challenging on the first lap of his third race.
He picked up five points from his last two rides to clinch a run-off for third place.
