It's the halfway stage of the season and Cheetahs are sitting pretty at the top, but they are not far enough in front of main challengers Ipswich to feel comfortable.
They have a slender one-point lead and a match in hand before tonight's Ipswich v King's Lynn clash so, by tomorrow night, they could be in second place again.
Therefore, to beat Wolverhampton will be a must for Cheetahs, but the crunch will come at Sandy Lane next week when Ipswich Witches are the visitors.
Club owner Steve Purchase said: "They say that to win championships you have to win when not performing well, and that is exactly what we did last Friday.
"Do I think we can win the championship? The answer is most definitely yes, because we are not riding to our full potential. Our riders have the ability to do it, but you also need some luck and we had some last week."
