A website run by Thame company Glencore Grain has won through to the finals of the UK's most prestigious e-commerce awards.
The company's site - www.grainman.co.uk - allows farmers to market their crops online for the highest prices, 24 hours a day. Now it has been nominated in the large business category of @chievement 2001, sponsored by Barclays and The Sunday Telegraph.
The nomination for businesses with turnovers of more than £100m a year sets Grainman alongside household names such as AA Insurance Services and Tesco.com, who are the other two finalists.
Glencore's Keith Davies said: "This accolade is clear recognition of the innovative approach of Grainman and the benefits of e-commerce."
