A play written by Thame students based on the Paddington rail crash will soon be staged in full at their school and could be published nationally.
As part of a project to write a play on an event they could relate to, four A-level drama students chose the crash.
The aspiring playwrights were four 17-year-olds from Lord Williams's School, Thame - Helen Durkin, Sarah Govier, Abigail Mail and Penny Patrick. As part of the programme, organised by the Haymarket Theatre in London, and working with a playwright, they produced their play - 8:36.
They wrote about those who missed the train and those on it, including the survivors.
The play is now in production and will be staged at the school next weekend.
It will be entered in the National Theatre's young playwriting competition and could be toured nationally.
Noreen Boylan has been approached by a publishing house editor for it to be published.
She said: "This is a really tremendous achievement for a comprehensive school.
"The initial play was remarkable and deserved all the praise heaped on it.
"Now we hope the expanded version will be staged by young people all over the country."
