Wealdstone 3, Oxford City 0

Injury-ravaged Oxford City crashed to defeat at Wealdstone in Ryman League Division 1 on Monday.

With their squad decimated, City gave debuts to new signings striker Steve Arkins, from Maidenhead, and defender Nick McCrae, from Banbury United.

But City went behind in the fourth minute when Greene's head was first to Lamb's cross and the ball fell to Hammatt, who gave Stuart Nelson no chance from 12 yards.

Before half-time, City were indebted to two fine saves by Nelson, who first tipped over Hammatt's volley and then dived full length in the 40th minute to turn Summers' drive on to the post.

It was still nearly all Stones after the restart and after Chandler had headed wide from point blank range, Nelson made the save of the game to keep out Greene's diving header.

But he was helpless in the 58th minute when Hammatt was left all alone to head in Tilbury's cross.

Arkins headed City's best chance wide, but Greene then rattled City's post after Nelson had done well to beat out a shot from Shaw.

In injury time, Pither dispossessed a City defender and ran 30 yards to drive past a stranded Nelson for Wealdstone's third.
