ABINGDON put their disappointing league form behind them to see off Reading, managed by former England and Notingham Forest star Neil Webb.
Adam Oram, in good scoring form for the reserves, was brought into the side and put them one up in the 22nd minute.
Six minutes later, Abingdon went further ahead when Jason Gardner headed his first goal of the season.
Gardner added a third after the break before Reading replied in the 89th minute through Karl Leighton.
