Green-fingered gardeners have made the town blooming beautiful said Len Webb, chairman of Thame In Bloom.

Roger Turner, of 1 Griffin Road, won the group's award for the best large garden, and the overall winners cup.

Town centre pubs set the scene with awards going to the Spread Eagle, the Birdcage and the Market Place, formerly the Oxford Arms.

Local firms CPM, Glencore, and Bodigian all received awards for their efforts.

John Hampden and St Joseph's schools also caught the judges' eye and the gardens on Mitchell Close won residents the best street award.

A painting competition run in conjunction with Thame In Bloom received 500 entries from local schools, with seven-year-old Theo Whiteman from John Hampden School voted the winner.
