ABINGDON Town boss Alan Thorne has threatened to ring the changes unless his players change their attitude.

He issued the ultimatum during a team talk after their disppointing Ryman League Division 3 defeat against Clapton on Tuesday, which he described as their worst performance of the season.

Now he is looking for them to get back to winning, starting with tomorrow's visit of Ware.

"It was a really sloppy performance. Our whole attitude was wrong. We are second from bottom in the league. We have got good players, but they need to pull their fingers out or go," he said.

Town will be boosted by the return of Jon Muttock from injury, and Thorne is hoping to sign Thame United midfielder Neil Gregg in time to play.

The club are also speaking to Tristan Didcock from Carterton Town as Thorne seeks to add more experience to the line-up.

"We have got to start winning. And that starts tomorrow." Banbury United are likely to without defender Terry Muckelberg for three weeks, due to a leg injury.

Player-boss Kevin Brock said: "He is not quite right with his calf so we have given him time off to get it right and go again."

Banbury could be without Ady Fuller for tomorrow's Dr Martens Eastern Division game at home to Chatham Town due to work commitments, so Brock has added Mark Essex to the squad, as long as he has recovered from a whiplash injury after he was involved in a car crash.
