People on benefit will be told about about free heating and home insulation grants on Thursday.

The Warm Front Bus will be parked in Manzil Way Park, Cowley Road, Oxford, between 10am and 4pm.

Advice on how Oxford residents can save up to £2,000 worth of free heating by applying for a Warm Front grant will be explained.

The Government grants are on offer to people who own their own home or rent privately. The only requirement to qualify for a grant is that the person is receiving some sort of benefit.

Oxford City Council is working in conjunction with Warm Front, a Government funded scheme, to bring the bus to the area.

When a person applies for a grant they will be visited by a surveyor who assesses what new equipment the householder can have installed. This can be anything from draught excluders, and loft insulation to central heating systems and security locks.

Helen Cansick, of the Warm Front team, said: "This is such a great scheme that people often wonder if there is a catch, but there isn't.

"We have thousands of pounds' worth of central heating, insulation and advice which can save people huge amounts of money on their fuel bills long term and ensure their homes are warm and cosy."
