The Irishman has had his licence withdrawn by the National Greyhound Racing Club for the second time in seven years following a positive urine sample taken from Apple Rambler at Wimbledon in October.

The sentence takes effect from February 1 and will last until January next year.

Apple Rambler tested positive for for the banned substance Lidocaine, which is said to have anaesthetic properties.

The dog finished last in a 460m hurdles open which supported the TV Trophy final.
