Twelve people were taken to hospital yesterday after two cars collided on a country road.
A car carrying five people and a people carrier carrying seven, collided at 1.15am on the B4009 between Lewknor and Shirburn, in Oxfordshire. Firefighters from Watlington and Kidlington had to cut the male driver of one car free from the wreckage.
The man, who suffered extensive injuries, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, in Oxford, where his condition was described as stable.
Five ambulances took the remaining injured to the John Radcliffe Hospital, and High Wycombe General Hospital, in Buckinghamshire.
They were all discharged later yesterday.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said none of the injuries was life-threatening and the majority were walking wounded.
He said: "We are carrying out a full investigation into what caused the accident."
