Free advice on green transport policies and how to reduce fuel costs is now available from the Government.
A folder, called the The Road to More Efficient Transport, has been produced by the Energy Efficiency Best Practice Programme based at AEA Technology's site in Harwell.
It is aimed at fleet operators of vans, lorries and cars and anyone else concerned with business and commuter journeys.
The folder points out that UK businesses spend £12bn a year on transport fuel and that fuel costs are likely to increase faster than most elements of the fleet budget.
It adds that rationalising transport policies along the lines suggested could result in savings for the business and its staff, less congestion for the community in general, better public transport, and a cleaner, safer environment.
