Barking 2, Thame United 3

Two late strikes from Thame United's Jefferson Louis secured all three Ryman Division 1 points at a windswept Mayesbrook Park.

Louis took the goals well, but huge credit must go to substitute Mark West, who provided the big striker with the chances.

The visitors should have been three goals up in the first 20 minutes.

In the fourth minute, a superb Louis pass gave Rob Smith a great chance, but he pushed his effort wide.

Louis saw his header from a Justin Lee free kick hit a post before home keeper Sam Whitby saved well from Wayne Cort.

Thame took the lead in the 24th minute through Mark Avery, but sat back, allowing the hosts to equalise through Anton Innocent.

Barking started the second half sensing a rare victory and took the lead in the 70th minute through Terry Sotchmer.

That rattled Thame who brought on Mark West, and he almost made an instant impression with a header cleared off the line. Nando Perna should have done better later, but headed wide of an empty net

West was the provider in the 80th, slipping a pass to Louis, who finished well. Minutes later West send Louis through for the winner.
