Three Lions can fulfil the promise of his hurdling debut by opening his account over timber at Ludlow tomorrow.

The five-year-old was trained by Fulke Johnson Houghton at Blewbury when finishing third to one of the favourites for the JCB Triumph Hurdle, Londoner, on his first run over obstacles at Taunton.

He was given a very positive ride that day by Tom Doyle and was soon clear of the field.

Headed two hurdles from home, he battled on well and was only beaten five and a quarter lengths.

Three Lions has since moved to Roger Brookhouse's stables, and looks a good bet to take the Bill Davies & Tom Dawson Whisky Galore Novices' Hurdle (2.00).

Lord O'All Seasons is fancied to land the Forbra Gold Challenge Cup (Showcase Handicap) (3.30).

Nicky Henderson's nine-year-old showed significant improvement to finish second to Impertio on his last run at Leicester.

Lord O'All Seasons finished very strongly over that two-mile-seven-furlong trip, but had no answer to the eventual winner's finishing kick.
