Headington Roadrunners' Jude Craft produced one of her best performances to finish 16th in the senior women's race at the National Cross Country Championships at Ashton Court, Bristol.

Blizzard conditions and a biting wind took their toll on the competitors, but Craft battled hard to cross the line in 30mins 7secs.

Supported by solid runs from her teammates, Headington's senior women's team secured a top-ten place in the overall team standings.

Elsewhere, White Horse Harrier Josephine Rhodes gained an impressive top-ten place for the second consecutive year.

Despite being one of the youngest runners in the race, Rhodes produced a strong run in difficult weather conditions to take eighth place in the women's under 17 race.

Teammate Frances Briscoe also produced a fine run, finishing 20th in the junior women's event.

Harriers' senior men's team finished 36th, ahead of rivals Headington Roadrunners in 45th.

Harriers were led home by Pete Wilson in 216th, followed by Jason Cooke (253rd) and Paul Jegou (331st).

More than 1,200 men finished the 12km course, but many more dropped out before the end in the atrocious conditions.
