Fire crews were called to deal with a chemical spill after a lorry left the M40 and ended up in ditch.
The accident happened at about 2.30pm yesterday on the northbound carriageway between junctions 8A and nine. The environmental protection unit from Rewley Road fire station in Oxford, and fire crews from Wheatley and Thame, attended.
About eight litres of the chemical butyl acetate had leaked into the cab of the vehicle and some had also reached a nearby watercourse.
Firefighters used breathing apparatus and absorbent pads to contain the chemicals, which have now been removed.
