A major consultation programme is taking place over plans to run a gas pipeline between Chalgrove and East Ilsley in Berkshire.
Operator Transco said an increase in demand for gas had prompted the need for the pipeline which will stretch about 17 miles at a cost of £1m a mile.
Transco said the plans were at an early stage.
