A shop owner has spoken of the moment a man burst into his store and told staff he would shoot them if they did not open the till.
The man entered the Leys Spar in Dunnock Way, Blackbird Leys, Oxford, carrying a blue plastic bag containing a concealed item he claimed was a shotgun just before 10pm on Monday.
He then threatened the staff and demanded money.
Jane Clarke, joint owner of the shop, said the incident was over within 30 seconds, and that the two women and two men working in the shop were shaken, but would be returning to work.
"He said if they didn't open up the tills quickly they would be shot, so wisely they didn't take any chances," she said.
"We keep a minimal amount of cash in the till so if any theft should happen you lose a minimal amount."
The incident was captured on the shop's CCTV system.
The robber, who took more than £300, was black, 5ft 7in tall, and of medium build. He wore jeans, a brightly coloured raincoat with a hood up. He spoke with a local accent.
He was last seen heading in the direction of Nightingale Avenue.
The shop opened in December and this was the first time it had been robbed.
