A youth walked into a Kidlington fish and chip shop and stole two charity boxes from the counter.
The collection boxes, thought to contain about £50 in total, were stolen from Smarts fish and chip shop in the Fairfax Centre. The thief then escaped across the main road and down an alley towards Garden City with another youth. Pc Stewart McInroy said: "This theft is despicable. It was about 10.30pm on Monday and we would like to hear from any witnesses."
The boxes were for donations to an air ambulance appeal and the Rainbow children's charity. The youth who stole the boxes was about 16 and slim.
He was wearing a white hooded top, dark trousers and white trainers. Call Kidlington police on 01865 846950, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
