The post office at Appleton village shop near Cumnor is temporarily closed following the resignation of postmaster Bob Crutchlow.
But it is expected to re-open next week once Consignia makes a new appointment.
Mr Crutchlow, 67, who was postmaster for two years, said he gave up the position for personal reasons. He will continue to work in the shop.
He said: "The post office facility is closed for the time being but we hope it will re-open next week once a new person has been appointed to take over. "The closure does not in any way affect the running of the shop which continues to trade."
Appleton's community shop was on the brink of closure last summer, but was saved with a £35,000 refit.
