An evening of nostalgia with music to suit dances from the waltz through to jive and rock and roll is being held.

The dance will raise funds and celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee.

The Kidlington Committee of the Romanian Challenge Appeal is inviting people from 16 to 90 to dance the night away to a live band at Exeter Hall, Kidlington, on Saturday, June 15, from 8pm to midnight.

Proceeds from the Queen's Golden Jubilee Dance will go towards the appeal, which was set up to support children in a Romanian orphanage in Siret. Tickets priced £15, including supper, are available now by calling Maureen Morris on 01865 377130, or Sheila Woodcock on 01865 374744.

There is an optional dress code, but organisers are hoping people will get into the spirit of the evening by wearing red, white and blue or 1950's dress.
