A group of Canadian students learning about the history of the Hudson's Bay trading company visited Witney.
The Hudson's Bay company used to place regular orders for blankets which were made in Witney. They are still woven at the Early's blanket mills.
They were popular with North American Indians, who used them as capes or exchanged them for beaver skins.
The visit was hosted by the town's history society. Chairman Charles Gott said: "We were delighted to help."
