Muslims from Banbury accepted an invitation from MP Tony Baldry to celebrate the Festival of Eid at the House of Commons.
A party of Muslims from the town travelled to London to meet Prime Minister Tony Blair, Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, and Home Secretary David Blunkett. They were also introduced to Muslim ambassadors and Muslims from all over England.
It was the first time Muslims from the Banbury area had been invited to Parliament.
Mr Baldry, one of the co-sponsors of the Eid tea at Westminster, said: "Muslims are an important part of Banbury, and the wide diversity of occupations of the visiting group showed what an important part they play in the community."
Sarfraz Bhatti, the organiser of the Banbury group, said: "It was the first time Muslims had been invited to Westminster for the Eid Festival.
"It was an attempt to build bridges between the Muslim community and other sections of society."
The Eid Festival is an annual celebration for the Muslim community, and follows a month of fasting.
