A PRIMARY school and the National Fire Brigade Benevolent Fund will split the proceeds of a fundraising car wash.

Didcot firefighters gave a helping hand to children washing cars in the playground of Harwell Primary School.

Other children offered a car valeting service.

Parents and visitors also enjoyed refreshments organised by the school association.

During the morning, firefighters gave demonstrations of how to deal with a chip pan fire.

A recent golf tournament, organised by the association, raised £1,100. Another £1,200 was raised at a joint dinner dance, organised by the Harwell School Association and St Birinus School, Didcot.
