A supermarket has been raided three times in two weeks by thieves who used dustbins to steal alcohol and cigarettes.

The most recent burglary of the Sainsbury's store in Park Street, Thame, took place just before 3.30am on Saturday, April 27.

Thieves smashed a dark-coloured hatchback car into the front of the store to gain access. An unknown number of offenders then removed alcohol and cigarettes, which they carried off in a black bin that had been stolen earlier from outside a house in Thame.

The burglars then made off in the hatchback, which police believe may also have been stolen.

Similar tactics were used by at least three occupants of a small, two-door hatchback, who broke into the store by reversing the light-coloured vehicle into the front door just after 1.50am on Thursday, April 25.

Two men emptied cigarettes into black plastic bins before making off in the hatchback.

Alcohol and cigarettes were stolen when a brick was thrown through the window of the store on Sunday, April 21, just before 2am.
