Detectives in Oxford are becoming concerned about the safety of a missing teenage girl.

Julie Turner, 13, was last seen by her parents when she left home in Barton for school last Friday.

She had had an argument with her mother about her boyfriend, 20-year-old Peter Adams, whom Julie is believed to be with.

Julie is white, 5ft 8ins tall, with blue eyes and gingery blonde shoulder-length hair. She has a pierced nose and protruding front teeth.

The last time she was seen, she was wearing black trousers, trainers, a white polo school shirt and green pullover.

Det Insp Andy Murray, of Oxford Police, said: "We are concerned for her safety but we believe she has left home of her own free will.

"Obviously this is causing great concern to her parents.

"Julie is not in any trouble, we simply want to make sure she is alright."

Anyone with information should call Thames Valley Police on 01865 846000, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
